About Elizabeth
I got my Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees all in social science. Although I've done scientific research, I love teaching more! I take pride in being able to teach anything to anybody. I make learning come to life! Students tell me I'm their favorite teacher because I make learning interesting and fun. I use dramatic illustrations, activities, humor, and real-world examples to help you understand society.
A typical lesson will start with easy-to-understand definitions, just to make sure we're on the same page. Next, we'll go in-depth about how these concepts play out in real life. I'll ask you questions throughout to check your understanding. We may end with a game or scenario to apply what you just learned.
I can teach anybody at any age! I can help you with your middle school and high school social studies classes. I can also tutor you for your college-level Sociology classes on any topic. Here are just a few of the college classes I've taught: Environmental Sociology, Introduction to Sociology, Minority Studies, Qualitative Research, Quantitative Research, Social Problems, Sociology of Gender, and Sociology of Religion.
