About Dr Saba
I am a Senior Lecturer with a PhD in English Language and Literature and over twelve years’ experience in Higher Education. I specialise in postgraduate academic writing, dissertation development, and advanced literary analysis across English language and literature, poetry, literary theory, and research methodology.
I have taught and supervised students at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral level, and my academic work includes both peer-reviewed research and published creative writing. My own dissertation received a national award, and I graduated with distinction at all postgraduate levels. Alongside my university teaching, I work with exam boards as an Assessment Associate, giving me a clear understanding of assessment criteria, examiner expectations, and what distinguishes high-level academic work.
I also hold certified training in mentoring and academic coaching, which informs my structured, supportive, and student-centred approach. My sessions focus on developing clarity of argument, precision in academic writing, and confidence in engaging with complex texts and ideas. I specialise in breaking down demanding concepts into manageable stages and guiding students towards independent, high-quality scholarly work.
