About Bert
I am a 28 year old PhD researcher currently writing my thesis. Whether it is in a university setting teaching prospective and current undergratuate students chemical engineering or coaching rugby to players with learning disabilities, I find it incredibly rewarding forming personal connections and mutual understanding with others to help guide them to whatever they want to achieve.

My approach is to work through the subject matter with the student to make sure that they have a full understanding of all important concepts as well as identifying areas the student struggles with. All concepts are then reinforced by working through example problems and questions. Typically available for 1-2 hour sessions using online video calling and sharing of material through email.
Two years experience teaching and demonstrating chemical engineering concepts to undergraduate chemical engineering students. I have also presented lectures and lab demonstrations to visiting college students during summer school programs.
Aditionally as a chemical engineering graduate and PhD student myself, I have recent experience working through scientific subject matter and understand what is necessary to prepare for exams and coursework. I therefore believe that I will be able to tutor with empathy and understanding of the postion the student is in, which will aid in guiding the student through the subject matter.
With my experience as PhD researcher, tutoring would be most appropriate for students at GCSE and A level.
