About Saleha
Hi, I'm Saleha! I'm currently a PhD researcher in Molecular Medicine, with an MPhil in Molecular Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences behind me. Biology has been the thread running through my entire academic journey — from studying it in the lab as a researcher to now wanting to share that same curiosity with students.
What draws me to teaching is simple: I remember how intimidating Biology can feel when it's taught as a list of terms to memorize rather than a story of how living systems actually work. Once a student sees the "why" behind a concept — why a mutation changes a protein's shape, why a cell divides the way it does — the subject stops feeling like memorization and starts feeling like understanding. That shift is what I love helping students experience.
I also know exam pressure firsthand, having gone through O/A-Levels, university admissions tests, and research training myself, so I try to teach in a way that builds both genuine understanding and exam confidence at the same time.
Outside of tutoring, my research work keeps me actively engaged with real biomedical science — which means the examples and explanations I bring to lessons come from current, hands-on experience, not just textbooks.

I break down complex topics - like cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, and microbiology — into simple, logical building blocks rather than asking students to memorize disconnected facts. I use diagrams, real-world/clinical examples, and past-paper practice to make abstract concepts (like enzyme kinetics, DNA replication, or immune response) concrete and exam-ready. Every student gets a short diagnostic in our first session so I can identify exactly where their gaps are and build a personalized study plan around it, rather than teaching a generic syllabus. I regularly check understanding through questions and short recaps rather than lecturing straight through, so nothing gets left behind.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, though I offer 90-minute sessions for exam-intensive topics (like A-Level practical-based questions or MDCAT prep) when a student needs more depth in one sitting. Frequency is flexible — weekly, twice-weekly, or intensive short-term revision blocks before exams.
