About Anna
I am an experienced English and ESL tutor with a PhD and a strong background in education. I have worked as a teaching assistant in the UK and classroom teacher in Japan. I enjoy supporting learners of different ages, abilities, and learning styles I am particularly interested in working with students who may feel unsure, anxious, or frustrated with learning. My aim is to create a supportive and respectful learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and make progress at their own pace.

For younger learners, I incorporate age-appropriate activities and clear routines, while for older students and adults I prioritise practical communication, academic clarity, and real-world application. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions can be arranged if needed. Each lesson has a clear focus, and I regularly review progress to adjust the pace and content. I hold a PhD in humanities and have experience working as a teaching assistant and English tutor, supporting learners from a range of backgrounds and ability levels. I am particularly experienced in helping students who may feel anxious, lack confidence, or need extra patience and clarity. My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, including school pupils, university students, and adult learners seeking to improve their English, academic skills, or conversational fluency.
