About Kevin
Hi, I'm Dr Kevin McKinley, a PhD-qualified microbiologist with a passion for helping students succeed in science. I’ve spent the past several years conducting academic research, publishing peer-reviewed papers, and mentoring students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My background is in parasitology, biotechnology, and zoology, but I’m equally confident teaching general biology at school and university level. I specialise in breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable explanations — whether you're preparing for exams, writing a dissertation, or trying to understand research papers.
I’ve worked with students from a variety of academic backgrounds, including those who:
- Struggle with confidence in science
- Are non-native English speakers
- Need help with academic writing or referencing
- Want high-level support for research projects
I aim to create a supportive, friendly, and focused environment where you can ask anything, work at your pace, and genuinely improve. Let’s work together to reach your goals.
