About Foram
Hello! I’m Dr Foram Joshi, and I am here to help you master math and Physics with confidence. Whether you are aiming to raise your grade, prepare for a big exam, or simply understand a tricky concept, I am dedicated to making math approachable and even enjoyable.
My tutoring style is collaborative and encouraging. I focus on breaking down complex problems into clear, logical steps. I believe that anyone can succeed in math if they have the right foundation, so I encourage you to ask questions, share your thought process, and learn from mistakes in a low-pressure environment. We will work through practice problems together until you feel fully equipped to handle them on your own.
I bring a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and a knack for explaining them in ways that actually make sense. I know exactly where students typically get stuck and how to navigate those obstacles effectively. My goal is not just to help you solve today’s homework, but to give you the strategies and confidence you need to excel in your future math courses.

My lessons are personalized, concept-focused, and designed to help students become independent problem solvers.
I begin by understanding the student’s current course, syllabus, textbook or class materials, recent assignments, and areas of difficulty. I then identify whether the difficulty is conceptual, mathematical, problem-solving related, or connected to gaps in earlier topics.
A typical lesson may include:
• Clear explanation of the underlying Physics or mathematical concept
• Visual and intuitive examples before moving to equations
• Step-by-step development of the mathematical method
• Guided problem solving, followed by independent practice
• AP-style, school-level, or college-level problems depending on the student’s course
• Identification and correction of common mistakes
• Short practice strategies for tests and examinations
• A personalized plan for improving weak areas and building confidence
For AP Physics students, I can provide focused support in conceptual understanding, quantitative problem solving, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and examination preparation.
For college students, I can help with introductory Physics, calculus-based Physics, university Physics, mechanics, electromagnetism, and related mathematical methods.
For Calculus students, I particularly enjoy helping students understand how calculus connects with Physics and engineering rather than treating formulas as isolated procedures.
My teaching philosophy is simple: I want the student to eventually be able to say, “I understand why this works, and I can solve a new problem myself.”
The first session is an opportunity to discuss the student’s course, goals, current challenges, and learning needs and to determine an appropriate tutoring plan.
