About Elara
I have always been fascinated by how the brain learns, remembers and makes sense of the world, which is what led me to study neuroscience and eventually pursue doctoral research.
Alongside my academic work, I have spent many years working with students through tutoring and mentoring, supporting learners at different stages of their education.
Over time, I realised that many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because complex ideas are often presented in ways that feel overwhelming. I enjoy helping students untangle these ideas and develop a clearer way of thinking about scientific problems.
I particularly value curiosity, patience and open discussion in learning. Seeing a student grow in confidence and begin to approach difficult topics with a sense of curiosity rather than stress is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

I am a PhD graduate in Neuroscience with over 13 years of experience supporting students across different ages and academic levels. My teaching focuses on helping students understand complex ideas in psychology, neuroscience and biology in a clear and structured way.
Many students feel overwhelmed when approaching scientific subjects, so my approach is to break concepts down step by step, helping students organise their thinking and build confidence in the material. I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, whether they are preparing for GCSEs, A Levels, university exams, or simply want to deepen their understanding.
I can also support students with research skills, essay writing, structuring coursework, and developing independent scientific thinking. Lessons are typically around one hour and are designed to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
