About Olga
I am a PhD molecular biologist with more than 40 years of experience in biomedical research, teaching, and mentoring students and research trainees. My career has included research and teaching at the large medical center and University, working with undergraduate, graduate, and medical students.
I have authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications and reviews and have extensive experience in laboratory research, scientific writing, grant preparation, experimental design, data interpretation, and mentoring researchers.
I understand that molecular biology can seem overwhelming, especially when a course moves quickly or when you are beginning an independent research project. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adapted to your level. There is no need to feel uncomfortable asking questions or admitting that you do not understand something: we will work through difficult concepts step by step until they make sense.
For graduate and PhD students, I can also provide an experienced scientific perspective on research projects, thesis and dissertation development, scientific writing, and presentations.
My goal is not simply to help you complete an assignment or pass an exam, but to help you understand the science, develop confidence in your abilities, and become a stronger independent scientific thinker.

My lessons are designed for college, graduate, and PhD-level students, who want to strengthen their understanding of molecular and cellular biology and develop the skills needed to think critically as scientists, learn to write scientific reports and grant applications or need help with their thesis.
Lessons are tailored to your individual needs. I can help you understand challenging concepts in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, gene expression, molecular mechanisms of disease, and related biomedical sciences. Rather than simply memorizing facts, we will focus on understanding biological mechanisms, experimental approaches, and how scientists use evidence to answer research questions.
For graduate and PhD students, I also provide research mentoring and guidance with thesis and dissertation work. This can include developing research questions and hypotheses, experimental design, evaluating scientific literature, interpreting results, organizing a thesis or dissertation, scientific writing, preparing manuscripts and presentations, and responding to scientific feedback.
With more than 40 years of experience in biomedical research and teaching, I can also help students understand how concepts learned in the classroom are applied in real laboratory research.
Whether you need help with a difficult course, want to strengthen your research skills, or need experienced guidance as you work through a graduate or PhD research project, lessons will be structured around your specific goals.
