About Dr Katarina
Unlike many tutors who start their serious music education at university, my professional journey began in early childhood. I hold Dual Diplomas from a Specialized Music High School in both Piano Performance and Music Theory, which means I underwent immersive, daily conservatory-level training in performance, solfeggio, music theory and harmony from a young age. This extraordinary foundation is backed by Dual Master’s Degrees—one in Ethnomusicology (an academic, research-based discipline) and one in Music Composition (an artistic discipline). Culminating my academic journey, I earned a PhD in Music Composition. This rare combination of deep scientific knowledge, high-level piano performance, and compositional insight allows me to offer an unmatched level of comprehensive mentorship.

As an ABRSM Specialist, I don't just teach the instrument; I completely prepare my students for all theory and practical exams. My unique method works: my students consistently achieve Merit (120+) and Distinction marks (130+ points). While I specialize in exam preparation, I am equally passionate about welcoming hobbyists and students following other international curricula. My doors are open to all age groups—from young children to adults—and all skill levels, from absolute beginners to advanced students (up to Grade 8).
