About Dr B
I've taught several types of college General Chemistry (including several courses for Nursing and Health Science majors) as well as Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry (Quantitative Analysis and Instrumental Analysis), and Environmental Chemistry. I've taught at both community colleges and traditional four-year colleges. And with my Bachelor’s degree I was certified to teach high school Chemistry and Biology, so I’ve covered the whole range. I've been teaching off and on for 40 years: I have over 10 years in the classroom and over 20 years in the laboratory, and sometimes the two overlapped.

Yes, Chemistry is DIFFICULT, but that is true for everybody. It's DIFFERENT than most things you've studied before. But it is also entirely DO-ABLE; that is, you CAN do chemistry. It just takes work, maybe even lots of work.
An online tutor or private teacher starts with learning where the student is starting, and we may need to go back a few steps to clarify and strengthen previously studied topics. I work *with* your current course and teacher, not against them. As we work through your assignments, I provide additional teaching, additional material, and even additional evaluation as needed. The ultimate goal is to bring the student up to the point in knowledge and skill that he or she doesn't need tutoring anymore.

Details
I charge extra for in-person sessions, as indicated.
-- After satisfactory completion of 3 regular sessions, we can reduce the online rate to $40/hr.
I require 24 hours notice to cancel or re-schedule a session.
-- Less than 24 hours notice incurs a charge of 50% (1st occurrence), 75% (2nd occurrence), or 100% (3rd occurrence and after).
-- No advance notice (that is, skipping a session) always incurs a 100% charge for the session.
All worksheets from a session are scanned to PDF and e-mailed to the student. All sessions are recorded in case there are any questions about what we covered or how things were done.
