About April

My name is April and I am a current PhD student, as well as a tutor for English language and literature undergraduate students. I have experience also giving grinds to Junior and Leaving certificate students and nearly four years experience teaching English language! As a student myself, I understand the stress and pressure of being a student, but as a tutor at the same time I feel I can help develop skills and assist in the learning and understanding of whatever material that is at hand- from novels to poetry, comparatives to grammar, spelling and reading comprehension.

About the lesson

All lessons will be tailored to suit the student's requirements and what you wish to focus on. If there are exams and tests coming up and there is specific material you want to go through, then the class will focus on that. Each lesson will be no less than one hour, but can be increased to two coming up to exam season should you wish.

I have a first honours BA and Master's degree, am currently pursuing a PhD in English literature and have a TEFL qualification. I have been tutoring in college for two years and have been teaching English language for almost three years.

All lessons are aimed at Junior/ Leaving certificate students, as well as English language learners.
