About Emma
I am originally from the UK and moved to New Zealand early 2013 to pursue a PhD. I have an undergraduate degree in Genetics from the University of York, UK.
I am now permanently based in Dunedin and work as a researcher at the University of Otago. I live here with my husband and young son.
I do a lot of teaching as part of my job, as well as a lot of outreach education to local high schools. It's one of the most enjoyable parts of my job. I am very passionate about science and love passing my knowledge on to keen learners.

I am a tutor with 12 years experience and a PhD in Genetics. I regularly tutor medical and science undergraduate students as part of my day job at the University of Otago. I also have experience tutoring high-school biology from the UK.
I can tutor NCEA level biology or genetics, molecular biology and certain health sciences and medicine topics at undergraduate level.
Lessons can be in person, in your home, or online. I am also willing to tutor a small group. I will meet with you (and your child) to ascertain the areas you would most like help with. I will then design a custom lesson plan to support you with your goals. I enjoy teaching by discussion and setting problem solving tasks to develop knowledge.
A typical lesson is 45-60 minutes long, this can be customised as needed. I can tutor weekday lunchtime or evenings depending on your needs.
