I am a university lecturer in chemistry and biochemistry at UC San Diego, with a PhD in Biochemistry from UC Irvine. I worked extensively on projects involving protein expression, purification, and analysis. Beyond the lab, I’ve mentored high school and undergraduate students in research programs, helping them build skills in scientific inquiry and communication.
My teaching philosophy centers on the idea that learning happens best when students actively explore and make connections between concepts. I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and engaging deeply with challenging material. Science isn’t just a list of facts — it’s a way of thinking, and I aim to give students the tools to approach problems like scientists.
Outside the classroom, I’m an avid gamer! Currently adding stenography and card counting to my list of abandoned hobbies.
