Hello chess lovers!
Welcome to the fascinating world of chess! I am Gökhan, a chess enthusiast and experienced instructor for 20 years. Below you can find more information about the teaching techniques and details I can offer you:

* My Teaching Experience: I started learning chess at the age of 6 and combined this passion with chess club membership and tournaments in which I represented my university during my university years. As I rose to the position of club president, I had the opportunity to give private lessons to university students. In 2006, I successfully completed the training and examination process organized by the Turkish Chess Federation and started my professional career as a chess coach. While continuing my university life, I also provided private lessons to primary school students. While working as a cyber security engineer in the technology sector since 2008, chess has become an indispensable passion for me. I gave training and organized tournaments at the company I worked for. Additionally, as the Istanbul provincial referee between 2010 and 2015, I served as a referee in many tournaments organized by the public and private sectors. Since I did not provide online education during the pandemic period, I took a break from my classes during this period.
* Student Profile: I don't remember the number of group lessons, but I taught over 60 students (aged 7-16) in one-on-one lessons. If anyone wants to get information, I can provide references from my former students.

About the lesson

* My Teaching Techniques and Methods: I use customized teaching techniques by understanding each student's learning style. I provide guidance in all areas, starting from basic chess openings to advanced strategies. I also help you develop your problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* Course Method: My lessons are practical and participatory. My students learn by playing games on the board, figuring out tactics, and applying strategies. I do not support online education of chess. I can say that I am especially against children. As someone who works in the technology sector, I believe that we should keep children away from digital screens. That's why I teach children face to face. I make learning a fun and effective experience. In addition, I make an online Mac with my students every Sunday and give feedback on mistakes and issues that need improvement.

* Chess and Life: Chess is not just a game for me, but also a tool that develops life skills. Chess increases important skills such as problem solving, planning, patience and concentration and makes it a part of life.
* Lesson Locations: I give face-to-face lessons on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. We can choose a suitable venue for lessons, such as a cafe or your/my home.
* Online Lessons: I think touching the stones is important for memory, so I do not offer online lessons.
