About Kathleen
As an experienced educational professional, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between content knowledge and effective learning strategies. Extensive research has revealed that students often lack awareness of cognitive and metacognitive strategies that can truly enhance their learning experiences. It’s disheartening to witness talented individuals struggle due to a lack of knowledge about how to learn effectively. That’s why I am here to make a difference!
With a wealth of expertise as a behavioral specialist and qualifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), I bring a unique perspective to the table. I am not only a qualified Moderator, Assessor, and facilitator, but I have also had the privilege of training individuals across 3 continents and 4 countries, including India, Japan, England, and South Africa. My diverse experiences have enriched my understanding of the challenges students face globally, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
My utmost priority is to empower your child to succeed academically and beyond. By equipping them with the necessary learning strategies and fostering a growth mindset, we will pave the way for lifelong learning. Together, we will delve into the study process, unravel the structure of human memory, and explore the perils of rote learning without a comprehensive understanding of concepts. We will dive into practical modules focused on effective organization, time management, mind mapping, and overcoming examination anxiety. For students in grades 10 to 13, we will also tackle vital skills like information processing, essay and assignment design, referencing, and plagiarism avoidance.
