About Ziyu
How I Teach: Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, blending technical training (in piano, voice, or musical theatre) with movement, acting games, and storytelling elements. My approach is both creative and structured—designed to build technical fluency while nurturing self-confidence and artistic expression. Lesson Format: Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes, allowing time for both skill-building and expressive work. For students preparing for auditions, competitions, or conservatoire applications, extended 2-hour coaching is available. Lessons can be individual or shared (e.g. siblings or friends).

I’m Ziyu (Zoe) Wu, a performing arts educator with over a decade of international experience. I hold a Master’s in Music and am currently completing my MEd at the University of Oxford. Since 2014, I’ve taught across the UK, Australia, China, and Singapore—helping students grow in skill, creativity, and confidence through the arts. I believe music and drama unlock self-expression and personal growth at every age. I’m passionate about creating a warm, structured, and inspiring learning space where students feel seen, supported, and creatively free—whether they’re preparing for the stage or discovering their artistic voice for the first time. What I Teach & Who It’s For: My teaching includes both foundational arts training for young learners and advanced vocal coaching for teens and adults: Children (ages 3–12): Singing, Piano, drama, ballet, and musical theatre foundations Teens (13–18): Vocal technique, performance coaching, audition and portfolio preparation, also suitable for exams or competitions Adults (all levels): Especially beginners seeking expressive, confidence-based voice training;

I can’t recommend Ziyu enough. From the very first lesson, she made even the trickiest techniques feel simple and clear. Her lessons are also very fun! She tailors each session exactly to your needs, so you walk away not just having learned something new, but feeling genuinely inspired. It’s that perfect mix of professionalism and warmth that makes her lessons such a joy.
Every lesson with Ziyu feels like a little spark of light in my week. She’s warm, uplifting, and deeply knowledgeable, and somehow manages to bring out the best in you without you even realising it. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, she makes the journey feel exciting and personal. It’s not just a class—it’s an experience that stays with you long after it ends.
Ziyu is absolutely brilliant. I’ve been having adult singing lessons with her, and she also teaches our five-year-old every week — and honestly, we couldn’t be happier.
She’s incredibly professional, but also really kind, patient, and thoughtful. What I love most is how she brings such empathy into her teaching — it’s clear she really understands people. Her lessons always feel calm and well thought-out, and she often weaves in techniques from music therapy, which makes the whole experience feel not just educational, but also really healing.
Every session feels like a breath of fresh air. I always come away having learnt something new, feeling energised and in a good mood. And our child absolutely adores her — she somehow manages to keep it fun and playful, while still helping little ones genuinely learn.
Ziyu has a lovely, gentle way about her and such a warm presence. She’s got a quiet charisma that really draws you in. We feel so lucky to have found her — she’s a gem.View more recommendations
