About João
Although I just recently completed high school, I have been involved in a number of tutoring programs. In school, this including being a 'peer tutor', which involved meeting on a weekly basis to help a student with math and being a 'reading buddy', where I would meet every week to help a young student learn how to read. I also participated in 'Turismo Consciente', where I spent one week in an impoverished community in the Amazon Rainforest teaching math and english to a group of locals for 2-4 hours a day.

My name is João and I am a recent high school graduate that will be attending the University of Pennsylvania this fall. I took the SAT recently and managed to get a 1530/1600 (800/800 Math, 730/800 English). I also got two perfect scores (800/800) on Math II and Physics subject tests.
My teaching method will focus heavily on identifying areas students have room for improvement and tackling questions of ranging difficulties, and developing essential exam-taking techniques.
