About Alex
I'm an 18 year old from the Monmouthshire/Herefordshire area with previous experience of tutoring at Magikats in Hereford, providing support for students up to GCSE level in Maths and English. After achieving three A*s in my A-levels, I have gone on to study Biochemistry (Molecular and Cellular) at the University of Oxford, something I would attribute to work ethic and my specific approaches for tackling exams and other assessments rather than any natural aptitude. It has been an uphill battle for me and I'm more than willing to help others win theirs!

I'm happy to provide one-on-one tutoring for students of all ages (typically 1 hour sessions but can be changed to suit needs of pupil), specialising in maths, biology and chemistry (whether that be for GCSEs or A levels!). I believe that high grades are attainable for any student, and that deep understanding of topics and what I like to call 'exam literacy' are far more important for doing so than simply knowing the content! I hope to engage pupils with personalised approaches to learning that boosts their confidence and targets their weakness, ensuring that they can reach their full potential :)
