About Matt
I’m a dedicated chess coach with more than 5 years of teaching experience. I hold the 1st Category title and have competed in the European Chess Championship. I teach all my lessons fluently in English (C1 level) and specialize in working with children of different ages and levels.
I’m known for my patient, positive, and encouraging approach. Many parents and students appreciate that I can explain chess concepts clearly and make lessons both fun and useful. I combine competitive experience with a genuine love for teaching kids, helping them not only improve at chess but also develop important life skills like strategic thinking, focus, and resilience.
Whether your child is a complete beginner or already has some experience, I create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where they can grow with confidence.

The most important thing for me is that children genuinely enjoy chess and have fun during our lessons. I don’t believe in forcing heavy theory or making kids study through pressure. Instead, I try to make every lesson interesting and engaging so that they look forward to playing and improving every day.
A typical lesson usually starts with a quick review - I check what they remembered from last time and we go over any difficult moments. Then I explain something new, like a simple opening or an interesting game from a grandmaster. To keep it fun for kids, I always add cool stories and fun facts. The best part of every lesson is playing a real game together - this is where they can try new ideas, take risks, and learn from their mistakes in practice.
What makes me different is that I’m a younger coach, so it’s easy for me to connect with children of different ages. I also have a younger brother, which helped me become very patient and understanding. I really love working with kids and always try to be supportive and encouraging.
My lessons are mainly for children - from complete beginners to those who already know the basics and want to get better.
