About Helena
Hi! I'm a 22-year-old Psychology graduate with a Bachelor of Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Chinese. I'm currently studying for the GAMSAT with the goal of pursuing a career in medicine.
Before returning to full-time study, I worked as a support worker, where I gained extensive experience supporting children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds. This role strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to adapt to each individual's unique needs. I also have experience working with neurodivergent children and young people, including those with ADHD and autism.
I've always enjoyed helping others learn and grow, and I understand that asking for help can sometimes feel daunting. My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities.
I'm reliable, approachable, and committed to helping every student reach their potential, whether they need extra support with schoolwork, preparation for assessments, or simply someone to explain concepts in a way that makes sense.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit the individual's learning style, goals, and pace. My focus is on building confidence and understanding, rather than simply memorizing information. I break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and encourage students to ask questions in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
With a Bachelor of Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Chinese, along with my experience working with children and young people as a support worker, I understand the importance of patience, clear communication, and adapting my teaching approach to each student. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including those with ADHD and autism, and I'm committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels capable of succeeding.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although shorter sessions can be arranged for younger students. I offer tutoring for primary, intermediate, and high school students in mathematics, English, homework support, study skills, and general academic confidence.
Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for assessments, or simply wants to feel more confident in the classroom, my goal is to help them enjoy learning and achieve their full potential.
