About Scarlet
I'm a mathematics enthusiast with several years of college-level study in software engineering, including coursework through Calculus III, statistics, and formal logic. I've always enjoyed understanding how mathematical concepts fit together and finding different ways to approach challenging problems.
As a tutor, I aim to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions without feeling judged. I believe that struggling with a concept is a necessary step in learning, and I enjoy helping students work through that struggle until the material starts to make sense.
I value clear communication and adapting my explanations to the individual student. If one way of explaining a concept doesn't click, I'll approach it from a different angle until we find one that does.

My goal as a tutor is to help students understand why a problem works, rather than simply memorize the steps to solve it. I focus on understanding how each student approaches a problem, identifying where they are getting stuck, and finding explanations or strategies that make the material click for them.
Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and can include reviewing difficult concepts, working through practice problems together, or preparing for upcoming assignments and exams. I encourage students to explain their reasoning as we work so we can identify and address gaps in understanding.
