About Lily
I am a recent graduate from the University of Sussex, having achieved a 2:1 bachelor's degree in English and Film. During my time studying, I tutored classmates and younger English students on a casual basis, helping them with course content and editing essays. The students I helped in my year all graduated this summer with upper second class degrees.
Whilst in my final year of college, I also provided lessons for students in the year below who were struggling with the leap from GCSE to A level English. I helped them with structuring more advanced essays and aided their understanding about what the course required of them. Most of the students I helped achieved A grades at A level, whilst the others achieved B grades.
I have a good knowledge of the English education system (having just been through it myself), and I hope to pass on to you the tips and tricks of achieving great marks in English!

I've always loved reading and writing, but I completely understand that this isn't the case for everyone! I believe everyone works better when they are comfortable, so I hope to minimise any anxiety or stress through our one-on-one sessions. Working together, I hope we can find ways to minimise pressure and build confidence in your reading and writing abilities!
If you’re anything like me, you probably also find work more difficult when it’s boring. I believe English is a truly creative subject - of course there are rules along the way, but curiosity and imagination are overall more important than procedure.
It is really important for me to make my lessons as fun and interesting as possible, so the learning process can be easier for you! I tailor new and exciting ways to teach for every student, taking into account your abilities and interests!
