About Jennifer
Hi, I’m Jennifer, an aerospace engineering student with a strong foundation in mathematics and a passion for helping students build confidence in their problem-solving abilities. I understand that math can feel overwhelming, especially when concepts start to build on top of each other, and I enjoy helping students break things down into clear, manageable steps.
My approach is patient, structured, and focused on long-term understanding rather than quick fixes. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their own thinking. I also bring a strong work ethic and attention to detail from my academic background, which helps me guide students through both concepts and exam preparation effectively.
Whether a student needs help catching up, reinforcing fundamentals, or improving performance, I am committed to helping them feel more capable and confident in math over time.

My approach to tutoring focuses on identifying foundational gaps and strengthening core understanding, since math concepts build on one another over time. I work with students to pinpoint where confusion begins, whether it’s algebraic manipulation, problem setup, or conceptual understanding, and rebuild those areas so they can approach new material with confidence and clarity. Rather than just getting through homework, I emphasize learning how to think through problems step by step.
A typical session starts with a quick check-in on current topics or assignments, followed by guided problem-solving where I walk students through my thought process and then gradually shift responsibility to them. I encourage students to explain their reasoning out loud, which helps reinforce understanding and reveals any remaining gaps. I also incorporate practice problems that target both current coursework and underlying skills to ensure long-term improvement.
What sets me apart is my structured and analytical approach, influenced by my background as an aerospace engineering student. I naturally break down complex problems into manageable steps and focus on patterns, logic, and problem-solving strategies that apply across different types of math. I also understand the pressure of exams and fast-paced classes, so I incorporate study strategies and test-taking techniques into sessions when helpful.
I work primarily with middle school through high school students and even some freshman and sophomore college students, including those taking Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. My sessions are especially helpful for students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like they’ve “fallen behind,” as well as students who want to strengthen their foundation and improve performance over time.
