About Elise
I have 13 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance and a Master’s in Advanced String Pedagogy. My academic training gave me deep knowledge of instrumental technique, performance psychology, and structured teaching methods. Over the years, I have worked with beginners, intermediate learners, and students preparing for recitals and music examinations. This experience has strengthened my ability to adjust lessons to suit different skill levels and learning styles.
I believe that strong progress comes from a balance of discipline and encouragement. I carefully observe each student’s posture, tone quality, and technical development to provide clear and constructive feedback. Creating a supportive environment helps learners feel comfortable while working on challenging material. Seeing students gain control over their instrument and perform with confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.
Outside the classroom, I remain active in performance and chamber music collaboration. Continuous practice and study allow me to refine my technique and stay inspired. I am dedicated to helping students build lasting technical skill, musical sensitivity, and confidence in violin performance.

My violin lessons are carefully designed to build strong technical control while nurturing musical expression. I begin by focusing on posture alignment, relaxed shoulder balance, and proper bow grip. These foundations are essential for producing a clear and steady tone. Students practise slow scale exercises and open string drills to develop bow control and accurate intonation. I explain every technique in simple English so learners clearly understand how each movement affects sound quality. Establishing correct habits from the beginning ensures safe and steady long-term improvement.
As students gain confidence, we move into shifting between positions, controlled vibrato development, and articulation clarity. I introduce repertoire that matches each learner’s level and gradually increases technical challenge. Rhythm exercises strengthen timing, while ear training improves pitch recognition and musical sensitivity. Structured weekly practice plans help maintain consistent progress outside lessons. After each performance attempt, I provide detailed yet supportive feedback so students can refine their technique and musical interpretation.
Performance preparation is an important part of my approach. I guide students through rehearsal planning, mental focus exercises, and confidence-building strategies. My goal is to help violinists combine precision with emotional depth. Through patient instruction and consistent practice, learners grow into disciplined and expressive musicians.
