About Madison
My name is Madi and I am a qualified Primary Teacher, just finishing my Masters degree in Education. During my undergraduate degree (BEd Primary Teaching) I specialised in humanities subjects (geography, history, religion, PSHE) but I have obviously obtained experience teaching all subjects. My preferred age group is Key Stage 2, particularly year 5 and 6, having obtained experience with SATs and revision, as well as the 11+ tests. I have a lot of resources available in this area as I have worked in this age group extensively, however I have also worked with and marked year 2 SATs papers and worked across the whole of Primary age.
Previously I have worked closely with parents of children who are behind for a number of reasons, giving advice and support as well as specialist plans for them to support their child at home. This close working relationship allows for openness and support for the child with all parties supporting each other.
From September I shall be teaching full time in my classroom. This means I shall be available online should you wish, as well as evenings and weekends, I can be fairly flexible.
I have also tutored GCSE Maths, Geography and English language for a very successful pupil and I have experience with English as an additional language.
I have also been a qualified cheerleading and gymnastics coach, choreographing routines and assisting dance workshops.

In my tutoring and when working with children I regularly assess the current attainment of the pupil, be it through questioning and reasoning or more formal testing. This is then used to decide how comfortable the child is with that subject area before deciding how to progress. I can create specialised plans for the individual however it must be appreciated that these are working documents and can be altered where necessary to support the child- my teaching is very adaptable and I respond to the needs of the child.
