Super tutor

Stephen is one of our best French tutors. High-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Stephen

I am a native French speaker who has previously worked in the media industry - involving journalism, translation and interpretation services from French to English & vice-versa. I have two years of tutoring French to children, teenagers and adults from various backgrounds; for academic purposes, exam preparations, helping for homework or to just simply improve their fluency & pronunciation. I love history, geography and traveling around the world! I also love reading and I am currently working on different pedagogical methods and research studies of teaching languages in this modern world. My classes are currently online and happy to help you with anything you need to succeed in French. I'm currently accepting students with an intermediate to advanced level of French.

About the lesson

Learn French in a fun, interactive and engaging environment with different online platforms and materials that I use and provide free of charge to students.

In the first lesson, I would be able to determine your level, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and hence, be able to customize each lesson based on your individual needs and goals.

My lessons are for anyone - whether you are trying to learn a new language, prepare for an official exam, live/work in French speaking countries, improve your fluency and pronunciation or just out of curiosity to use French to travel around the world.

Stephen's response
Kee Wee is a very passionate student who wants to succeed the TEF Oral Exam. His positive attitude while receiving my feedbacks after our classes would improve his confidence to speak fluently and better with a rich vocabulary as I'm here to help him with that.

Perfect! Stephen is an excellent tutor for my 9 years old son! He has a very clear pronunciation. He is organized, patient, and well-prepared! My son is a total beginner, but only after taking 2 lessons, he can read French alphabet, say quite a few greeting sentences, and count from 1 to 10! Stephen is a very friendly and supportive teacher. He replied to my messages quickly and communicate with me and my son very well! Highly recommend Stephen!

Meng enrolled her son named Joseph to take lessons with me. Joseph is an amazing student, very attentive, serious and is improving a lot. I like that he reviews his lessons and prepares himself in advance for the next lessons.

Perfect! My daughter had her first lesson with Stephen and she really enjoyed it. She is usually very shy and lacks confidence in French, but he was incredibly kind and patient with her. After the class, she told me she loved it and is excited for the next one. We’re very happy with the experience so far!

Stephen's response
Kana's daughter is amongst one of my youngest students and she's slowly, but surely progressing even better after every lesson. I exercise active listening and patience to make sure that the basic roots of the language is well understood by the student first; then, I move on to exercises to practice what has been learnt. :)

Stephen is a great teaher. My 9 year old son has had 15 lessons with him, and he is still relatively engaged in the classes. Stephen does a good job of correcting the pronounciation and keeps my son engaged.

Stephen is a charming and well-mannered person with a great command and subtlety of language that can only be expected of a native speaker. As a colonial, he has a great awareness of French as a world language. Which makes him suited to teach all learners, wherever they are from.
