About Liza

Hi there! I’m a guitar tutor with 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music specializing in Guitar Traditions. My training connects academic study with practical playing across several modern guitar genres. Metal, shred, and progressive rock are my biggest passions. These styles push technique and creativity.

My teaching focuses on building fast and precise playing. Strong fundamentals matter. Students practice alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and legato techniques. Every exercise builds control and speed.

I teach both younger beginners and adult guitarists. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals. Some want to master aggressive riffs. Others want to develop advanced solo skills.

Theory is always connected to the fretboard. Students learn how scales, modes, and rhythm shape powerful guitar lines. Practice becomes structured and productive. Confidence grows steadily. With the right guidance, complex techniques become achievable. Together we develop speed, accuracy, and expressive guitar playing.

About the lesson

My teaching approach to guitar emphasizes lead playing and technical mastery. Students learn to create expressive solos with phrasing, articulation, and melodic direction. Lessons focus on shaping solos rather than playing notes randomly.

Improvisation is taught gradually using scales, chord tones, and musical patterns. Blues and rock techniques like bends, vibrato, slides, and legato add emotion and character. I also teach how to connect ideas so solos flow naturally.

Some students enjoy jazz improvisation and exploring harmonic ideas. Others focus on high-energy rock and blues solos. I support both approaches while guiding students to develop their individual musical voice. Technique, creativity, and listening skills are combined through structured exercises and real examples. The goal is confident, expressive soloing. Soon, you'll be shredding with confidence.
