• Tell us more about yourself. What inspired you to take up fashion designing as a profession?

  I developed a passion for fashion design at a young age, around the sixth grade, when I realized I wanted to pursue a career in this field. The idea of empowering individuals to look and feel their best through style and creativity has always inspired me. Over the years, this passion has deepened, and I now dedicate myself to sharing that knowledge with my students.

• What motivated you to start teaching?

  My motivation for teaching is deeply rooted in my passion to revolutionize how people see themselves through fashion. I've always believed that great styling can unlock a person's confidence and help them shine in their own unique way. By teaching fashion design, I aim to ignite that same passion in my students, empowering them to make a lasting impact through creativity.

• How does your work impact society?

  My work as a fashion design teacher has a profound impact on society because it empowers individuals to express themselves confidently and authentically. By teaching design principles, creativity, and sustainability, I help my students contribute to a more thoughtful and inclusive fashion industry. Ultimately, it fosters self-expression and encourages positive change.

• Do you have a role model?

  I don't have a single role model. Instead, I find inspiration in the diverse experiences of the people around me. Every person I meet contributes to my personal and professional growth. This collective inspiration keeps me grounded, curious, and always evolving as a teacher and designer.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring creative outlets like sketching fashion illustrations, using Photoshop, and staying updated with fashion trends. I also love traveling, as it allows me to experience different cultures and styles-which I bring back to my classroom to enrich my students' learning.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your students or professional life?

  A few years ago, I participated in a fashion show in Delhi. While the collections were visually appealing, many designs lacked comfort and practicality. That experience stayed with me. I later gave my students a task-form groups of three, recreate similar designs, and fix the flaws they observed. It was an insightful exercise, and the results were impressive. It helped them understand the importance of blending creativity with wearability.
