About Harry
I have achieved all 9s at GCSE and 3 A* at A-level, including 297/300 and 295/300 in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics respectively, and am currently an undergraduate student at UCL, studying BSc Economics. I have many years of tutoring experience working both online and in person with students of all ages. I find that it is very important to create a comfortable and safe environment where students can freely express themselves and ask any question that they may be stuck on. I don't believe that any question is a silly one! Above all, I believe that it is beneficial to adapt to the needs of each individual student and support them in achieving their goals whether that be subject related or in other ways.

I take a flexible and student-centred approach to tutoring, adapting each session to meet the individual needs and goals of my students. At the start of each lesson, we have a conversation about what the student wants to focus on—whether that's tackling tricky topics, building specific skills, or working through exam-style questions. From there, we move into guided examples, where I demonstrate clear step-by-step methods. I use tools like a Miro board for interactive collaboration, or I share my screen and write out solutions in real time, especially if the student doesn't have a device to work on. Once they're ready, I set independent questions and ask them to talk me through their reasoning as they solve them. This not only checks their understanding but also deepens it, and gives us a chance to spot and fix any gaps. I also make a point of revisiting past topics during each session to help reinforce learning and keep earlier material fresh.
