About Dominique
I have a strong academic background, having achieved a distinction of 90% in English Home Language during high school and completed a degree in Political Science and History.
I developed an interest in language education while tutoring high school German, which was my minor at university. Throughout my academic career, I also particularly enjoyed supporting peers with their technical writing, further deepening my connection to languages.
My work experience has honed my skills in copywriting, proofreading, and editing, fostering a keen eye for technical correctness and polished writing.

I prioritise creating personalised lesson plans that closely align with learners' syllabi and developing exam strategies tailored to each learner's needs. Before starting tutoring sessions, I will conduct a thorough consultation to understand where the student stands in their current curriculum, their desired learning outcomes, and their learning style.
Currently, I am improving my teaching skills through a part-time TEFL course, scheduled for completion by the end of January. This training has reinforced my appreciation for independent thinking and a learn-by-doing approach, steering clear of overly-prescriptive methods.
