About Shaunna
I am a mother and educator living in Montreal with a master’s level education with 10+ years experience working with children and 4 years of experience in literacy education. I am warm and love to engage with kids and help them feel confident and at ease in their learning environment. I have experience working with kids who are learning english as a second language as well as kids with special needs who need extra attention and approaches specific to their exceptionalities.

My name is Shaunna and I am a passionate and enthusiastic child educator with 10+ years experience working with children and almost 4 years of literacy specific tutoring experience. I am familiar with a variety of different approaches to literacy education that can be applied depending on the specific needs of the child and expectations of parents.
I have focused my practice over the years on teaching children to love language and embrace literature in the hopes of helping them succeed in school and become lifelong readers. Having seen an increase in reluctance to engage in reading and writing, particularly since the onset of the pandemic, my goal is to make learning exciting, engaging, relevant and fun for kids while building their skills and confidence.
