About Georgie
I have been tutoring since my A Levels, where i assisted my teachers in AS Level classes, teaching students how to quickly formulate an argument and a plan for time restricted exams. Since then I have been tutoring occasionally throughout my degree, predominantly to GCSE and A Level students!

I am a recent English graduate with a high 2.1 from University College London (UCL) alongside an academic award (Elsie Hitchcock Prize 2017/18) for best performance in Literary Linguistics. Having achieved straight A*s in my A-levels, I believe I have a strong knowledge of the course content of GCSE and A Level English Literature & Language as well as what the examiners are looking for in A/A* responses for exams. I am most confident teaching 11+, secondary, GCSE and A Level students, but can additionally help with editing university applications, dissertations, academic writing and referencing. My approach to tutoring English is to find and target an aspect of the subject that will stimulate an interest for my students. I believe that this is the best way to achieve great results in the subject, as well as developing strong essay skills where an argument is structured, answers the question and presents independent thought. Independent and critical thinking is key to gaining high results in English exams, and this is what you will gain from my tutoring, as I aim to develop a passion for English that will show through exams and coursework.
