About Allison
I am a dedicated literacy tutor with a diverse background focused on community, creativity, and connection. I hold an Associate's Degree in General Studies, which gave me a broad, versatile education. My career history has uniquely prepared me to be an effective, patient educator. Having spent 10 years working as a professional cook, I excel at organization, time management, and breaking complex processes down into clear, manageable steps. For the past year and a half, I have served as an activities coordinator at a nursing home. In this role, I design engaging programs, adapt to diverse learning styles, and foster a warm, encouraging environment. I bring this exact blend of patience, structure, and creativity to my reading lessons. Whether working on phonics, comprehension, or building general confidence, I tailor my approach to every individual student. I am excited to help you or your child reach your literacy goals in a supportive, stress-free space!
