About Rachel
Hi, I’m Rachel! With nearly 15 years of experience in fast-paced roles outside of education, and a background in teaching 12th-grade science and fourth-grade math and English, I bring patience, adaptability, and professionalism to every session. My goal is to empower you and inspire confidence in your learning journey. Everyone learns differently, and has areas of study that may make them feel more or less confident. Education is a tool we can all use to sharpen our skills in all areas, even the ones we feel the least proficient in. As cliché as it may sound, learning helps to strengthen your mind. And in my experience, strong minds are happy minds!

My teaching style is to be a mirror. I will use some simple diagnostics to infer what method of learning is best for each unique student. Once we've established what works, and what doesn't, we are on our path to success!
As for lesson plans, I tend to keep them pretty diverse. I like to incorporate different learning styles along with direct instruction. Fun quizzes, inquiry-based learning, and flipped classrooms can be super engaging and help the student solidify concepts.
Having experience in curriculum development, high school, and elementary education provides me with a wide range of teaching strategies and understanding.
While natural sciences are my first love, I am fully equipped to help students comprehend many concepts in the STEM field. I would love to help students from grades 4 through 12 find their footing in what is sure to be the most promising field of the future!
