Part 1 & 2 and Interior Concept Design & Presentation Expertise + RIBA/ARB Part 3 Case Study & Oral Exam Preparation. William is a highly experienced PhD. private practice architect for over 37 years

During my part 3, and as it was during the height of the pandemic, tutorial sessions were very limited. After I did not make the grade I sought mentorship from William who guided me, assisted me with putting my case study together in a manner which satisfied the module. 


William made the time and arranged meetings where he guided me through each section of the case study and explained in depth each of the riba stages as it relates to my particular project. William was prepared to go above and beyond to schedule meetings as often as needed, something which I lacked with my previous tutor. He diligently took me through the role of a contract administrator, Employers agent and the significant role of an architect. He also thoroughly explained the various contracts and their benefits. 
 
William helped me to deliver a case study which showed  thorough understanding of the Riba work stages, the role of the architect, the benefits of a tender process, mobilisation etc. I was able to submit a case study which showed good understanding of the project in its entirety, a testament to Williams knowledge in the field of architecture. 


In addition, he gave me much needed golden nuggets; interview techniques one being to ensure that I focus and discuss areas of the project that I am particularly most confident into elaborate on, along with solid examples as evidence to demonstrate  a good understanding. 

William has helped me immensely in my part 3 and if it wasn’t for his attention to detail, years of experience in the field and the compassion to pass down much needed knowledge to the up and coming architects I think it would have been a very different outcome. I owe a huge gratitude to William for his exceptional guidance and mentoring through the toughest time of of the architectural course as it was during the pandemic. 
 
I would definitely recommend William over and over again due to his passion, commitment, experience, in the field and his solid work ethic; including the fact that the examiners were very impressed with both my interview and case study submission. Thanks to Williams guidance I am now a fully fledged part 3 architect.



 

I had the pleasure of working in William’s architectural practice as a student. William mentored me personally and introduced me to the realities of what it takes to function as an architect. He has unique skills in tutoring architect students and I am grateful to William for helping me focus on the task in hand, get organised, and deliver the project as part of a team.

With my Part 3 Case Study, I needed particular help with organising a clear strategy. William understood immediately what needed to be done and where to make a positive start. He took me through each aspect of the case study requirements and oversaw my progress until its completion. I was especially impressed by the way William tutored me for my oral examination. He made me realise the actual significance of my involvement in my project and the value of the contribution I made to it, which was a crucial element for my oral exam preparation.

William is a talented and very experienced practitioner who is passionate about practicing architecture and I am grateful to him for helping me achieve success with my Part 3 qualification. He is very friendly and approachable and makes a point of listening to his students and their desired to succeed. I worked in William’s architect practice for over eight years. During this time I obtained varied work experiences on many different types of projects. As a student, William was always keen to make sure that I was exposed to the correct type of work experience and when it came to taking my Part 3 Qualification I was personally assisted by William who took a personal interest in my preparation for the Part 3 Qualification.

We decided on the most appropriate project which I contributed to in a meaningful way. William guided me in how best to prepare my Case Study with a particular emphases on setting out my level of involvement in the decision making process. Because of this level of in-depth exposure to project management, I was well prepared for my oral examination. William is a great tutor; he has a very friendly personality and I am confident in recommending him to any architect student.

Working with William was an amazing experience. He is the most competent architect I have ever worked with during my professional career. He is a very friendly individual and hence the working environment that he created for his colleagues.
He helped me a lot on the projects right from concept design through to all stages of the design process. I was really impressed the way he thinks about a project and stage manage it so profoundly that a complex project would become very much easy. The details that William sketch for even the engineers and the on-site contractors were amazing providing a very comprehensive 3D understanding.
William has a real passion for architectural education and he really wishes to impart it to the young architects. He has also been author of some very exciting books with few more to come.
I learnt a lot from William and I am proudly using the experience that I have gained working with him. I wish all the future architects find someone like William during their career that could mentor and polish their skills.
