About Paul
WIth over thirty-five years teaching French as well as six years teaching French online, it is difficult to say how many students I have taught over the years. Many of my classroom students continued their study of the French language in college, some have even chosen French as their teaching profession. To this day, several students on social media contact me regarding their use of French, whether during their travel experiences or employment overseas.

I am a retired French teacher with thirty-five years experience both inclass and I also have taught over one thousand lessons online via Skype. The curriculum is designed with the student's expectations and goals in mind. Areas covered could include spontaneous conversation, pronunciation practice, thematic vocabulary, or grammar explanation and review.
My basic philosophy for language learning is..."just say it"...to increase student confidence in speaking a foreign language. The goal for any level is communicative competence, being able to be understood by a native speaker despite minor errors in grammar or pronunciation. With continued practice, those errors can be corrected.
Former students describe me as a patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable teacher. I was raised in a bilingual family, attended a bilingual school and received both my Bachelor's degree in French and my Master's degree in French from a US college in conjunction with the Alliance Française in Paris.
