About Rhiannon
I’m an experienced tutor and social researcher with a strong academic foundation in the social sciences. I hold a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Politics, Violence and Crime from UCL. I currently work as a mixed-methods researcher on public policy and social impact projects, which gives me a real-world perspective I bring into my teaching. Alongside my professional work, I’ve mentored and taught young people in a wide range of settings—from supporting Oxbridge applicants through interview prep and essay feedback, to working as a camp counsellor and summer school teaching assistant. I know how to connect with students of different ages and backgrounds, and how to create a calm, focused learning environment where they feel confident to ask questions, make progress, and enjoy the process. As a tutor, I take a structured yet flexible approach, tailoring each session to the student’s goals and learning style. I specialise in tutoring GCSE and A-level students under 18 in subjects like English, Sociology, Politics, Anthropology, Religious Education and Public Speaking, as well as supporting exam prep, study skills and university applications. My lessons are friendly, focused, and fully tailored to each student’s needs. I work with learners aged under 18, supporting GCSE and A-level students across subjects including English, Sociology, Politics, Anthropology and Public Speaking. Each session—typically 1 to 2 hours—is designed around the student’s goals, current level, and learning style. I blend structured content delivery with practical skill-building, using a mix of discussion, guided exercises, exam-style questions and personalised feedback. I also incorporate interactive methods for younger students to keep sessions engaging and confidence-boosting. My teaching emphasises clarity, critical thinking and independence, whether we’re tackling tricky syllabus content, preparing for exams, or working on long-term goals like university applications. With a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from Oxford and an MSc in Politics, Violence and Crime from UCL, I bring strong academic foundations. My experience spans tutoring, mentoring Oxbridge applicants, teaching at summer schools, and providing pastoral support as a camp counsellor. I know how to adapt to each learner and help them thrive.
