About Henry
Energetic, confident and professional physics graduate with 1000+ hours of private tuition experience teaching science, mathematics & English to students of all ages. I worked as a tutor alongside my university studies between 2013 and 2018, had a one year stint as a full-time educational consultant shortly after graduating during which I realised I was more interested in a front line teaching role, so left this in 2020 to pursue tutoring full time.

My way of tutoring is to inspire my pupils to explore the world around them. With the amount of teaching I have done I always have a number of prepared lessons to hand, but often find these are a starting point, letting each individual’s needs direct the topics covered. The best teachers I have come across have always been the ones who inspired me to delve deeper into their subject independently, and it is the passing on of this passion that is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. Examinations and university applications nowadays require more than just knowledge of the core syllabus. As someone who has only recently gone through school and university I can offer up-to-date practical advice on exam preparation and revision when needed as well as what I like to term ‘playing the examiner’, the technique of ensuring that you are putting down exactly what the exam board wants to see in its most concise, clear and rapid form.
