About Tara
Hi, I`m Tara!
I am a Secondary School History teacher with a Secondary History PGCE from the University of Oxford and a BA in History from Queen Mary, University of London.
During my time at The Tiffin Girls` School, I studied English, History, and Psychology at A Level, achieving grades AAB. I have experience tutoring English up to GCSE level, History up to A Level, and content for 11+ entry examinations. Having completed the qualifications myself and supported students through the current 9–1 GCSE grading system, I have a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements. The students I have tutored have consistently benefited from tailored support and have gone on to achieve excellent results.
Through both teaching and tutoring, I have seen how valuable one-to-one tuition can be in helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and reach their academic potential. I believe that well-planned, engaging lessons are key to student success, and I regularly use current exam-style questions to reinforce subject knowledge and develop effective examination techniques.
I am passionate about helping students become more confident and independent learners, creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves academically.
I am available most evenings and weekends and look forward to supporting students in achieving their educational goals.
