About Christyn

Hi, I’m Christyn!

I’m a 2nd year Medical student at the University of Oxford who achieved A* in Psychology A-Level.

Having recently been through GCSEs, A-levels and university applications myself, I understand how overwhelming they can sometimes feel. I’m a friendly and approachable tutor, and I really enjoy helping students reach the point where a difficult topic finally clicks. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working things through with me, while still being challenged to achieve the best they can.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on genuine understanding rather than simple memorisation of mark scheme answers. This ensures students feel confident tackling the hardest exam questions as their knowledge can be applied to any question. This is so important for A-Level and GCSE psychology where exam questions are often applied.

I work through topics interactively with the student, creating personalised notes together while using questioning and active recall throughout to check and consolidate their understanding. These notes are then sent to the student after each session, providing a tailored revision resource they can continue to use independently! After understanding of the topic is solidified, we practise applying knowledge through exam questions, with the remaining questions being set after for homework.

I’m also happy to send weekly reports to parents as I know how important it is to keep them in the loop!
