About Jake
I'm an experienced tutor with an undergraduate degree from Oxford and a Master's in communicating creatively. I work with students to find ways of understanding concepts fully, no matter how simple or complex, so that they can apply them correctly in their exams. I hope I can help you do just that.
I have worked with a range of abilities, including SEN children and over 100 Oxbridge applicants.

I teach up to GCSE Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
Up to A Level Biology, Psychology and Philosophy.
I also provide university admissions advice - I have worked with over 100 students at Leading Education to contribute to an 85% offer rate at G5 universities at the company.
My teaching method is based on my published psychological research into long term memory. A lot of people think that a subject is just not possible for them to learn, or that it's too hard. Normally, this is just because you haven't yet found a way of thinking about it that makes sense to you. As a tutor, my job is not to replace your school teaching and give you loads of extra work. Instead, I'm here to help you find ways, unique to you, of understanding concepts so that you can apply them in any situation - because they're not things you've learnt rote, they are things that just make sense to you.
