About Phoebe
Hi! My name's Phoebe, and I hold a History degree from the University of Oxford. My current plans are to work for a year and then pursue postgraduate opportunities once I have some money saved up. I am passionate about tutoring and working with young people because it's a way I can give back to the vast community of teachers and schools that uplifted me enough to walk the path I have completed today. There was a time when I was frustrated with school and didn't enjoy it, but the support I received made me absolutely fall in love with learning. If I can do that for someone else, I believe I will have done my job.

My techniques when it comes to tutoring in English are dependent on the stage you're currently on in your journey. For GCSE students, I would usually approach lessons with detailed breakdowns of the texts that you may struggle with, including poetry, so that you're best equipped for revision and final exams. When it comes to Language, this would translate to lots of practice papers and in-depth breakdowns of how to answer each question, depending on your Exam Board.
My lessons are primarily for GCSE students, but I am open to taking clients for A-Level English Literature, not Language, because I have experience in sitting Literature and teaching it.
A lesson would be 1hr/session, and you can also expect written feedback for a student/parent weekly, and extra homework upon request.
I have 3 years of experience with online tutoring, especially in English. I once helped a student go from a Grade 4 to a Grade 6 in two months. I also have real-life experience working as a TA in high schools, including working with SEN children.
