About Alexandra

Hi there, I'm Alex. Finding the perfect tutor can be a daunting task, as this will determine how much you enjoy the lessons and how effectively you learn. To help you make your decision, I'd like to share a little bit about myself below, so you can get to know me and discover more about my teaching style. I am a professional tutor with over ten years of experience working with students from primary age through to sixth form, helping them to build their knowledge and confidence across humanities subjects. No two students are the same. That's why I design and deliver bespoke learning programmes that cater to your goals, learning styles and strengths. For example, for visual and kinaesthetic learners who may struggle in a typical classroom environment, I like to employ physical and visual learning methods such as posters, mind maps and interactive exercises to help them encode and retain key information. My goal is to make lessons so much more than a simple video call and even make dreaded subjects - dare I say it - fun. I have experience working with pupils who need additional help, whether it's their understanding, self-belief, or both, that need a little extra nurturing. Within my lessons, I build self-esteem and coping strategies for those who find studying challenging. This includes pupils who have special educational needs such as ADHD and dyslexia and those who want to perform their best but who struggle with the pressures of exams. Every child deserves to enjoy learning and be proud of their successes. I aim to achieve this in my lessons by creating an encouraging, fun and supportive environment.

About the lesson

Professional tutor with 8 years' experience. My tutorials are designed to cater to the unique needs of each student, providing personalised attention and support to ensure their success. Whether your child struggles with a particular subject or simply wants to stay ahead of the curve, we can provide the tools and resources they need to excel. What I teach: I provide guidance and exam board-specific support for students aged 14-18, covering GCSE & IGCSE, A-level & IB, and university applications. My Method: Following an initial assessment of your child's specific needs, I build knowledge of the subject and provide valuable assistance with coursework and exam technique. All our learning programmes are bespoke and cater to students' individual learning styles and strengths. Structure: Tuition is delivered for 1 hour weekly over a longer term or as a short-term intensive course to help with exam revision.
