About Holly

I'm Holly, I'm nineteen years old and I use she/they pronouns. I love tutoring and mentoring younger students, as it inspires me to see others learning and improving, and it amazes me to be able to see the impact I can have on someone else's life! I aim to be supportive and reassuring, someone you can consider a friend as well as a mentor, and I hope to put anyone at ease who is worried about awkwardness or embarrassment around people they don't know.

In my free time, I have many hobbies - I love to learn languages (currently focusing on Spanish and German though I know basics of more), code (Javascript), act, dance, sing, be creative, and make my own clothes. I am hugely involved in activism in my city, most specifically climate activism, and I have helped to organise protests and events in support of intersectional climate justice since April 2019.

About the lesson

I will cater lessons to you and how you learn best! My typical structure is going through a powerpoint I've made based on what you need to study, with interspersed recall and understanding questions, and a selection of exam questions on the chosen topic towards the end.

Lessons are normally 1 hour each but I'm very flexible and would happily do any longer or shorter to suit you! If you need to change the time of a session at any point I will adapt to your schedule as long as I have some notice to fit it around mine.

I have been a mentor for 24 months on Blair's Brainiacs, the largest UK educational Discord server, where I host drop in sessions to help members revise and give advice and tips when requested.

I am most familiar with the content of the A-Levels that I've taken, but I am also willing to offer GCSE tutoring for English Literature, English Language, Combined Science, Biology, Geography, Spanish, Art, Drama or Music. I will coach anyone younger who needs help with KS3 work, if you give me specific topics you'd like to cover that you struggle with, so that I can prepare something in advance! I also offer help with Oxbridge applications, interviews and admissions tests.
