About Aven
I’m a guitar tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies. I specialise in ear training for guitarists who want to play intuitively. Students work on transcribing solos, recognising chord progressions, and developing perfect pitch. My lessons are interactive, hands-on, and tailored to each student’s level. I encourage listening deeply and translating what you hear into music. Improvisation, analysis, and transcription are central parts of my teaching. Students gain confidence in their ability to play songs and solos by ear. I focus on connecting ear training with real-world musical situations. Lessons are engaging, challenging, and fun. I celebrate milestones and encourage exploration. My goal is to help students play with intuition, skill, and creativity. Together, we develop ears that hear, interpret, and perform music naturally.

I teach guitar with a focus on music reading and rhythm understanding. Students practise tablature, standard notation, and sight-reading exercises. My approach is systematic, building reading skills gradually and effectively. I work with Classical Purists and Jazz Explorers to develop fluency in notation. Lessons combine exercises, repertoire, and practical application on the instrument. Students learn rhythm, phrasing, and expression directly from written music. Reading becomes a tool for musical freedom and creativity. My lessons are interactive, structured, and engaging. I encourage curiosity, practice, and exploration. Students gain confidence sight-reading and performing new material. I celebrate every milestone along the way. Together, we unlock the language of music through the guitar.
