Ria is tutoring our daughter for English Lit A’Level. Ria is an excellent tutor. She is organised and enthusiastic as well as patient and fun. She is well prepared for each lesson and has the skill to make the sessions not only enjoyable but interesting. We’re thrilled with the progress our daughter has made in just a short period. I highly recommend Ria as a tutor, she’s excellent!

About the lesson

I am an established premium tutor, now offering my services to Superprof community. I have worked with a broad range of abilities from ages 9-18 and specialise in nurturing more able students to reach their potential. My lessons are calm, purposeful, with an added touch of humour, helping to put students at ease.

I have exceptional subject knowledge to pass on to my students: I achieved a 1st Class Honours in English & American Literature and went on to specialise in Victorian Literature at Masters level (Distinction).

I have Qualified Teacher Status (11-18) and have taught English in Kent secondary schools for 4 years now from KS3 through to Sixth Form study. I have experience in tutoring a range of specs at GCSE & A-Level, the most popular being AQA, Edexcel & the IB.

I like to challenge my students to the best of their ability but at a pace that suits their needs. I am very patient and encouraging and have experience teaching a wide range of students with a wealth of educational needs. She covers a large quantity of work at a very high quality, including work specifically targeted to cover my son’s weaknesses, resulting in boosting his grades in a short period of time, as well as helping him enjoy English more as a whole.
