About Mackenzie
I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. My goal is to help students build confidence while developing the skills they need to become independent, successful learners.
I love finding creative ways to make lessons meaningful through games, hands-on activities, visuals, and students' interests. I celebrate growth, encourage perseverance, and create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Watching a child gain confidence, master a challenging concept, and begin to enjoy learning is the most rewarding part of what I do. I look forward to partnering with families to help every student reach their full potential.

Every lesson is personalized to meet your child’s unique learning needs, interests, and goals. My teaching style is engaging, encouraging, and hands-on, helping students build both confidence and strong academic skills.
Each lesson includes a quick review, explicit instruction on a targeted skill, guided practice, interactive activities or games, and independent practice to reach lasting understanding. I use research-based strategies, including Orton-Gillingham methods for reading, and focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than simply memorizing them.
I tutor students in kindergarten through sixth grade in reading and mathematics. Whether your child needs extra support, wants to catch up, or is ready to be challenged, I create individualized lessons that help them grow academically while making learning enjoyable.
