About Rafia
I am an Orthoptist with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students succeed in Science. I aim to make learning clear and manageable by breaking down complex topics into simple steps and focusing on understanding rather than memorisation.
I have experience supporting learners through structured tutoring and mentoring, helping them build confidence, improve exam technique, and achieve better results. My approach is patient, consistent, and tailored to each student’s needs.
I believe every student can improve with the right guidance, and I work to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.

I teach using clear, structured explanations and focus on breaking down difficult topics into simple, manageable steps. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student, using practice questions and exam-style techniques to build confidence and improve understanding.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs.
I am a University of Sheffield graduate with strong experience in tutoring and supporting learners, helping them improve their knowledge, exam technique, and confidence.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students (ages 11–18 and adult learners where applicable), especially those studying Biology and Chemistry under the AQA specification.
