About Virginia
Chemistry is often less about memorization and more about recognizing patterns that most people miss initially. I rely on my 3 years of experience guiding pre-med students to simplify complex reactions.
Scoring in the 99th percentile on the MCAT gave me a clear perspective on how to handle difficult exams. I currently navigate the rigors of medical school at Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons every day.
These academic demands refine how I explain topics to university students retaking orgo or those preparing for A-level exams. My work is focused on helping post-bacc students navigate the specific hurdles of organic chemistry. I enjoy building a bridge between theoretical lecture content and actual exam application. Organic chemistry can feel like a foreign language when you are staring at a blank page. I confess that I once struggled with the same concepts of alcohols and ethers that stop many students in their tracks. We will break down carbonyl chemistry, amines, and carboxylic acids into manageable parts. IR and mass spectrometry become much clearer when you view functional groups through a logical lens.
Expect us to spend time on elimination reactions and isomerism to build your foundational confidence. I promise to keep our pace steady so you can actually digest the material.
